Ordinary VOIP over Satellite data services often do not work well because of the delay characteristics of satellite data transmission. There are several techniques and a few providers that specialize in efficient VoIP satellite networking solutions and services.

VoIP via satellite means HUGE latency, so the act of carrying on a conversation can be quite tough, as you'll be constantly interrupting each other.

It's better if you say "Over" after every sentence so the other person knows they can talk now.
